I _________ do cheerfully swear that:
I will play golf for the sheer joy of the experience of the game.
That I will not, under any circumstances (shank nor 3-putt nor quadruple bogey)
Throw my club, curse at God, or threaten to harm myself or my spouse.
Rather, I will appreciate the opportunity to test my physical skills and emotional stability.
That I will celebrate the glorious feelings that arise during the playing of a round;
Rage, joy, despair, hope, frustration, determination, and elation.
That I will cherish the companionship of my friends and family.
(and be someone whom they will cherish as well)
That I will take the time to soak in the natural beauty of the golf course, to smell the roses
(even if they are out of bounds in somebody's back yard!)
and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.
I love this game and promise that no matter what happens I will remember that
Golf is a Game, not a life threatening experience!
